I would like to share with you a collection of photographs that I have captured around Australia, my island home, to acknowledge and pay respect to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Australia is fortunate enough to have one of the richest and oldest continuing cultures in the world. Its vast and diverse landscape provides Aboriginal people with a deep and spiritual connection to their stories and cultural heritage.
“When you on Country, you walk with a spring in your step, you walk with your head high, you not afraid of anything. In order to find yourself you have to get lost. Best place to get lost is Country.” – William Watson, Yiriman Cultural Boss
